Our ethos

There is no such thing as an ordinary person, an ordinary life, or

an ordinary conversation.

Every exchange is an opportunity to explore infinite perspectives that could change your own.

Through experiences, artistic interventions, and public experiment, Blue Fondue invites you into alternate realities through conversations — whether overheard, with each other, or with yourself.

Every piece begins the same way — around a table.

Sensing the moment comfort turns into conformity

Our background

Blue Fondue was created by artist Ilma Tiki, whose work is based on sensing — and subverting — the moment that comfort turns into conformity.

Ilma works with the invisible: the stories and emotions that shape how we see and connect with one another.

Blue

The colour of distance and possibility.

Fondue

A shared ritual filled with warmth.

How we work

01

Start with a question

First we immerse ourselves in a question born from lived experience — something felt long before it can be explained.

02

Gather around it

Around this question we collect stories, collaborate with artists, and seek guidance from scientists and experts.

03

Give it a form

The question may be asked as a performance, an installation, a public experiment, or a new social practice.

04

Let it become a conversation

A conversation overheard; a conversation with others; a conversation with ourselves.

Questions we explore

01

What realities remain invisible because of where we stand?

02

What becomes possible when we experience another person’s normal?

03

How do language, culture, and environment shape who we become?

04

What conditions help people become more curious, open, and connected?
